Tour Plan

9:00 AM – Hotel Pickup from Dhaka

Your friendly English-speaking guide from Mam Holidays will pick you up from your hotel in Dhaka in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. As you begin your private guided tour Dhaka experience, your guide will provide a brief overview of the day’s itinerary, ensuring you’re comfortable and ready to explore the city’s vibrant culture, rich history, and architectural marvels.

Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Visit

Start your Dhaka Heritage and Culture Tour at Baitul Mukarram, the national mosque of Bangladesh. This modernist architectural masterpiece features bold geometric shapes inspired by the Kaaba in Mecca. You’ll learn about its importance as a spiritual hub for Dhaka’s Muslim community, and your guide will explain how this mosque represents the fusion of tradition and modernity. It’s a must-visit for those wanting to experience the religious fabric of the city.

Sadarghat Boat Ride (Dhaka Boat Tour Sadarghat)

Experience the pulse of Dhaka with a one-hour boat ride on the bustling Buriganga River from Sadarghat port. As part of the Old Dhaka Walking and Boat Tour, this ride immerses you in the daily life of locals, passing colorful wooden boats, vibrant river markets, and historic riverside buildings. Your guide will point out key photography spots in Dhaka, capturing the lively river traffic and local commerce. The sensory overload here—from the chatter of boatmen to the scent of river water—is a highlight of the Best Dhaka Sightseeing Tour.

Ahsan Manzil Museum

Next, explore Ahsan Manzil, the iconic Pink Palace, which once housed the Nawabs of Dhaka. This grand palace, set on the banks of the Buriganga River, displays stunning Indo-Saracenic architecture and contains exhibits that showcase the lifestyle of Dhaka’s aristocracy during the British Raj. Your Dhaka Historical Landmarks Tour continues here as your guide narrates tales of nobility, political intrigue, and the palace’s role in shaping the city’s past.

Armenian Church

Visit the serene Armenian Church, a beautiful colonial-era building symbolizing the city’s Christian heritage. This quiet sanctuary, surrounded by old trees and colonial charm, offers insight into Dhaka’s multicultural religious landscape. Your guide will explain the church’s historical significance and its role in Dhaka’s diverse community, making this stop an important part of your authentic local experience Dhaka.

Tara Masjid (Star Mosque)

Discover the stunning Tara Masjid, or Star Mosque, renowned for its intricate mosaic stars decorating the facade and interior walls. This mosque is an exquisite example of Mughal architecture combined with local Bengali artistry. Walking inside, you’ll marvel at the vibrant patterns and learn about its cultural importance. This visit is a highlight of the Dhaka Heritage and Culture Tour and a favorite among visitors interested in religious landmarks Dhaka.

Lalbagh Fort

Delve into Dhaka’s Mughal past with a visit to Lalbagh Fort, an unfinished 17th-century fortress nestled within beautifully landscaped gardens. Here, your guide will reveal stories of emperors, battles, and local legends. The fort’s stunning architecture and tranquil grounds provide a peaceful respite in the city and make it an essential stop on the best itinerary for Dhaka sightseeing.

Lunch Break

Savor authentic Bangladeshi cuisine at a local restaurant, where you can taste traditional dishes like biryani, dal, and fresh river fish. This meal offers a delicious introduction to Dhaka’s food culture and a chance to relax before the afternoon’s cultural exploration.

Dhakeshwari National Temple

Visit Dhakeshwari Temple, the most significant Hindu temple in Dhaka, which dates back centuries. The temple’s vibrant rituals, colorful architecture, and serene atmosphere provide a fascinating contrast to the day’s earlier visits. Your guide will share insights into the Hindu community’s role in Dhaka’s cultural mosaic, emphasizing the city’s religious diversity.

Central Shaheed Minar

Experience the powerful Central Shaheed Minar monument, dedicated to the martyrs of the 1952 Bengali Language Movement—a pivotal moment in Bangladesh’s history. The towering structure with its symbolic columns stands as a testament to the nation’s struggle for cultural identity and linguistic pride. This stop enriches your Dhaka cultural tours for expats and visitors wanting to understand the city’s heart.

Curzon Hall, University of Dhaka

Conclude your day at Curzon Hall, a stunning piece of Indo-Saracenic architecture located on the University of Dhaka campus. Built during the British colonial period, the hall features elegant arches and intricate detailing. It remains a vibrant academic hub and a symbol of Dhaka’s educational heritage. Your guide will explain its role in political movements and higher education, providing a well-rounded Dhaka Landmarks Itinerary.

la excursión prometía una hora en barco, no hubo nada. además los dos museos estaban cerrados por "fiesta religiosa" no se ofrecieron otras excursiones alternativas. La excursión de dia completo terminó a la una de la tarde..

I was pretty pleased with the services provided by Mam Holidays. There was a little bit of confusion picking me up from Dhaka Airport due to the chaotic nature of Hazrat Shahlajal, but that is water under the bridge. They definitely condensed the sightseeing attractions into a day which I greatly appreciated due to me only being in Bangladesh for 48 hours. The guide was very friendly but was a bit hard to understand at times. A little bit of work on that will be very helpful. I also really appreciated Mr Abdul Kashem tacking on a visit to the National Martyr's Monument in the afternoon free of charge after we finished all the Dhaka sightseeing attractions in the morning. He also gave me a huge discount for being a student which was very good. Overall, I can safely say that Mam Holidays will be an excellent asset towards making your stay in Bangladesh smooth and enjoyable, and will not hesitate to recommend them with the highest possible accolades..
